EDUCATIONAL TOUR IN THE REGION OF PELOPONNESE

Within the context of the educational tours in Greece organized by the Hon. Consulate of Kenya in Greece, members of the Machakos County Assembly – Kenya were on an educational tour in the Region of Peloponnese from April 6 to April 12 2019. The aim was to be informed on agroindustrial issues. Head of the Kenyan delegation was Mrs. Florence Muoti Mwangangi, Speaker to the Assembly. Mrs. Vicky Pantazopoulou, Hon. Consul of Kenya in Greece, and Mr. Vassilis Katsikeas, Chairman of the BoD of the Hellenic-Kenyan Chamber of Industry, Trade, Development, Tourism & Culture, accompanied the delegation to their trip. In Tripolis the delegation had a meeting with the Head of the Region of Peloponnese, Mr. Petros Tatoulis.

In the Prefecture of Corinth the delegation had a meeting with representatives of the local Chamber and visited the plant of the dairy company “E. Mandrekas SA”. They visited also the Museum and the archaeological site of Ancient Corinth. In the Prefecture of Argolida the delegation had a meeting with representatives of the local Chamber and visited the plant of the juice industry “Aspis SA” and the plant of the recycling company “S. Rokizas SA”. In the Prefecture of Lakonia the delegation had a meeting with representatives of the local Chamber and visited the fruit-processing-into juice factory of the Cooperative ASEE Amyclae “Lakonia” and the olive & olive-oil processing/production factory “Alea Laconica”. In the Prefecture of Messinia the delegation had a meeting with representatives of the local Chamber and visited the plant of the winery “Oinomessiniaki SA”. They also had a meeting with the Rector and Vice Rector of the Technological Educational Institute of Peloponnese, Prof. Ioannis Kapolos and Dimitrios Petropoulos respectively. During the meetings issues of possible cooperations were discussed as well as the possibility to establish joint venture companies. The Kenyan delegation invited Greek entrepreneurs to participate in the big international expo FoodAgro organized in Nairobi by ExpoGroup from August I to August 3 2019.
